Cooler Weather

What a difference 24 hours make. Yesterday afternoon it was about 90 degrees and this morning it was in the mid-40's when I was driving to work. I actually had to turn on the heater this morning.

Wonder how long until we get some snow?

Oven Baked Ribs

We had some Ribs that we needed to cook and we don't have much room to BBQ so I found a good recipe on the Internet for Oven Baked Ribs.

The recipe is quite simple:

Mix 2 bottles of barbecue sauce with 1 cup orange juice.
Pour mixture into a 9x13 pan.
Place ribs in pan and flip using tongs so ribs are coated.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake in a 300°F oven.

Total cooking time can be as short as 2 hours or as long as 4 hours.
Flip ribs over halfway through cooking.

Great Pumpkin Patch

Thomas (Missy's little brother) threw a pumpkin in their backyard earlier this spring and it has sprung into a mini-pumpkin patch. I told him I would take some pictures and put them on our website.

Here is a link to the picture gallery.

On another note I asked him if he was going to stay all hallowen night in his pumpkin patch and wait for the Great Pumpkin and he looked at me like I was crazy. Apparently kids are not watching nearly enough cartoons these days. I think I remember actually watching this cartoon in school.

First Day Of Autumn

Tomorrow is the first day of autumn and the Autumnal Equinox.

Here is a good link to describe the Autumnal Equinox.

This can only mean that the weather will start to get colder and HallowThanksChristmas day eve is just around the corner. I really love the upcoming Holiday Season and this year it should be twice as nice with my new wife.

Saturday Golf!

Kenny came home from school in Illinois to pick up his car that had been in an accident and in the body shop. So we thought it would be a great Saturday to get out and play some golf.

Eric, Nick, Kenny and I headed out to Tanglewood Golf Course for a two on two scramble tournament with the losers buying the winners ice cream. I am proud to report that Kenny and I whipped Eric and Nick by 7 strokes before they forfeited on the 17th hole.

Missy headed out to Wal-Mart and the grocery store for some more shopping and bough $150 worth of “stuff’ for the next couple of weeks. So today I am going to cook some Chili and we are going to watch some of our favorite Sunday Shows (King of the Hill, Thee Simpsons and the new show The War at Home).

Tie Questions:

I am having to start to wear ties to work now and have a few quick questions that if someone knows the answer to they should let me know:

1) How do you wash a tie?
2) How often is acceptable to wear the same tie (once a week or once a month)?
3) Best place to buy ties?
4) How much should you spend per tie?

More RedCross Pictures

Here are some more pictures from the trip:

Red Cross Pictures

Back!

I have returned home after being in the south since Thursday! We got all of the Red Crosses V-Sats setup and ran out of stuff to do. It was a really interesting experience. I don’t have many pictures due to Red Cross regulations but I do have this one picture:

How to hang an $800 access point the Red Cross way.

I may be returning back in the next week or so if they come up with more networking stuff they need done.

Jerry vs. Katrina Part 1

I now know where I am going and what I am going to be doing. Tomorrow
morning I will be heading to Montgomery, Alabama and will be traveling
through the south setting up mobile command units using VSATS, Cisco
Pix/Routers and Windows XP.

I will be playing the "Connection" game with my flights tomorrow.

Here is the list:
LV COLUMBIA JEFF 600A
AR ST LOUIS INTL 644A

LV ST LOUIS INTL 725A
AR MEMPHIS 838A

LV MEMPHIS 930A
AR MONTGOMERY 1050A

There is also a little hang up with the Red Cross funding structure.
The Red Cross normally gives each volunteer a MasterCard with $900 for
equipment, travel supplies and living expenses. Melissa at Red Cross
said they will try their hardest to have cards available in Montgomery
but they couldn't promise anything. Who thought they would ever run
out of credit cards?

That's all my update for now. I should have email contact all 21 days
I am gone, email me and I'll try to WOW you with stories from the
front.
