Giving Blood
Today Phi Theta Kappa at school held the Spring Blood Drive and I finally gave blood for the first time. I just thought I would let everyone know. It went just fine, I didn't pass out or anything.

The purpose of this blog is to give our family and friends a more intimate window into our wedding planning, well I found a comic today that sums up how the wedding planning is really working.
Happy Easter Everyone! Hope everyone has a good holiday.
Congrats to Mike and Heather got engaged this morning. Mike is Missy's older brother who works in St.Louis.
I am a goal-orientated problem solver. Identify the problem, develop several courses of action and choose a course of action. Problem solved. This has always worked well for me.
A recent problem Missy and I faced was one of many trivial ones.
Problem identified:
Her Mom had bought a couple hundred bottles of miniature bubbles to give out for people to blow instead of throwing rice (which by the way doesn’t make birds explode) at the wedding. The bows on the bottles were the wrong color and wouldn’t match the color of the wedding.
Plan Number 1:
Cut off all the wrong color bows and spend an ungodly amount of time putting the right color bows on to the bottles.
Plan Number 2:
Buy all new bubbles with the right color bows.
Plan Number 3:
No Bubbles.
For me, this is easy. No bubbles means no chance of some kid accidentally drinking a bottle of bubbles and ending up in the ER. Problem solved, right?
I think we all know the answer to that one.
For about the next 48 hours I think Missy and her mom cut all the bows off of the old bubbles and tied new ones on. So in August when your little kid is trying to drink the bubbles after you take them away take a few seconds to notice how the bow on the bubbles goes perfectly with everything else.
For four days until Good Friday (um I mean “Free Day”).
I didn’t get much of anything done this week.
I worked a couple of days on some projects at work that needed to be at least started.
Missy and I went to Columbia on Friday and ate lunch at Old Chicago’s (Not one of the best places we have eaten).
I had a pretty relaxing week, but I am looking forward to getting back to work.
PS: My boss had their baby this weekend! Congrats!
This is one of those things I love about working at a college...
I get spring break off!
I have no idea what I am going to do with a week off except to get my car fixed.
Missy said she had some wedding stuff to do and was going to start her job hunt for after college.
I’d like to go somewhere but with a list of expenses like this coming up I better start saving now:
Missy’s College Graduation Present
Moving to a bigger apartment by August
Wedding Bands
Honeymoon(?)
Remember this post?
Well I have one thing done on the list…. If you look over in the right upper corner you can see the countdown clock. This was done with a little bit of java script knowledge I have and a whole lot of Tom Foolery.
As for the Pictures, Maps, and Gift Registry, they are coming.
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon....
While working today one of the other people who work in my office accidentally hit my car.
I ran it over to get an estimate at Rileys in Jefferson City. Come to find out that little scratch is going to cost $1353.75 + a rental car.
I guess I know what I’ll be doing over spring break.
That’s my weekend in 6 words.
I got in two rounds of golf this weekend (Friday and Sunday afternoon)
I still suck… but someone told me if I spent $500 on clubs I could play better.
Speaking of $500…. Missy spent more then that on her Wedding Dress that she *FINALLY* picked out this weekend. I think she had been to David’s Bridal exactly 2,735 times before she decided on the dress she wanted.
Missy and I then went to a Birthday party for her Aunt in Westphalia Saturday night.
All of her other Aunts and Uncles dressed like a Dragon and danced around (I don’t know why, and yes I do have pictures that will be posted shortly.).
Sunday we gave her sister the Bambi 15th Anniversary DVD and I found the most shocking secret of the weekend……
Bambi is a dude!
What’s up with that?
So I took a spur of the moment trip with Nick, Eric and Kenny to Best Buy in Columbia yesterday with a quick stop off by the Raws to celebrate Eric's (AKA Jellybean's) birthday party.
Kenny had his new BlueTooth enabled Palm with GPS receiver so we had instant directions[*].
Nick had his new Motorola V551 phone with BlueTooth head seat he could voice dial from [**].
After looking around at best buy and them not price matching on my internet ad for the Sony DSC-72, I broke down and got the 5.1 Mega-pixel DSC-P100. I will have some pictures up this weekend from the camera. With all the stuff we have to do will give us ample opportunities to test out the camera thoroughly.
*Directions include: Ending up on a gravel road in the 4th largest city in Missouri and hearing "Make UTurn if Possible" 900 times.
** Voice Dialing for Nick goes something along these lines: "Erics Cell... ERICS CELL.... ERIC CELLL.... D*MN IT"
